Research Project and An Artist's Book: The Role of Curators, Institutions, and Graphic Designers

The diploma work titled Ex/position is a project, exhibition, intervention of space, which determined itself as the topic and object of its research (analysis and interest). The Ex/position is an exhibition about an exhibition, a project about a project and a reflection about a context. The main output of the thesis is a curatorial project created in the concept of collaborative practice. The result of it is a collective work in the form of an exhibition. The thesis as a temporary gallery installation is created on the basis of the curatorial and as well authorial concept in collaboration with other authors. They were ideologically, formally, creationally involved in the collective work. The Ex/position reflects these topics: collaboration, the essence of the particular media and their contemporary intermediality, the relation between author and author, author and curator (and their blending) and the creation process of an exhibition.
The Relationship between Curator and Educator in Museums of Art

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of relations and cooperation between curators and educators in art galleries. The theoretical part introduces both professions, presents their work activities and qualification and competence requirements. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on a brief overview of the ongoing transformations in exhibition institutions, specifically describing the related new institutionalism and the educational turn. The practical part presents empirical research, the main aim of which is to find out what the collaboration between curators and educators in selected art galleries currently looks like. The data for the research are collected through semi-structured interviews with curators and educators from the galleries; questions are directed at mutual collaboration as well as previous experience, education and work background. The information obtained in the interviews during face-to-face meetings is analysed and interpreted together with information from the websites of the selected galleries. The research shows that all the galleries surveyed offer a variety of active programmes for different target groups, which shows a reflection of the ongoing changes and a certain shift towards an educational turn. Role of art education teacher focusing the presentation of school creative production

Researched topic of the thesis is The role of art teacher education focused on the presentation of art works. Art teacher is given in context to the curator of the exhibition, the curatorial activities. Curator of the exhibition is a relatively new professional level, very important especially for contemporary art. The theoretical part of the work confronts profession of educator and curator of the exhibition. It searchs for a new fields of two environment meanings that combines art. Interest is whether and how the profession of the teacher and curator of visual encounter is met. I search and describe this during studies. Subsequent interest is the presentation of pupils' work, and whether it is an important part of the activity of fine art teacher, looking for steps it goes through. As well as what the teacher's attitude towards exhibitions and other forms of presentation of pupils' work. Educated high school students are familiar with the possibilities and circumstances presenting their own works of art, learn about the background of the exhibition project. The Role of the Curator in Conditions of Contemporary Czech Art

The bachelor thesis seeks to clarify the role of a curator of contemporary art in the context czech art scene. To achieve this objective the person of curator is set into the wide framework. Thesis starts with description of historical events which led to formation of this profession and influenced its evolution into the current form. The vital moment is division of a curator into two types in the second half of 20th century; a curator as employee of exhibitionary or collecting institution and an independent curator. This fact is crucial for the specification of exact responsibilities of a curator. It is this issue and also description of environment, where a curator currently operates, to which one of the chapters is dedicated. A place in the thesis is also given to the analysis of some factors, human and technical, which have a direct and also indirect influence on the work of a curator. The text is ended by a chapter about possibilities of education in the field of curating not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. Institutional care education and follow-up projects for children leaving institutional care education programmes

This thesis deals with consequential care after release from institutional care and relations between absence of binding person and incorporation of a young adult terminating his or her institutional care into society. The thesis focuses on institutional care, stressing its termination, it suggests changes for improvement and offers an example of good practices from Germany. Also, the thesis identifies the most serious issues of children after institutional care and describes, in detail, consequences of lack of emotional support. Utilizing case studies, the experimental part looks into whether children living in children's home can find a binding person and how presence or absence of such a person can affect their future life.
